We have a number of great quartets in the Altoona
![]()
Sounds of Style
We love to sing and have fun doing it. We love singing 4 part Acapella barbershop harmony. We are Vicky Westley - tenor, Carol Hogue - lead, Ginny Dudek - baritone and Val Palmer - bass. We have been together for several years and look forward to many more. Sounds of Style is Altoona based but come from Indiana, Ebensburg, Arcadia and Marion Center.
Along 4 the Ride ![]()
Along 4 the Ride has been singing together since May 2007. They competed for the first time in April 2010 and loved the experience. Along 4 the Ride had the honor of being the first quartet from Altoona Chorus to compete in 25 years. They have also sung in four annual chorus shows, Christmas parties, many special events throughout the community, and have sung The National Anthem for The Miracle League, numerous Altoona Curve baseball games, and for The First Annual Fallen Heroes Football Classic in Williamsburg. Along 4 the Ride is thrilled to welcome their newest member, Carol (a.k.a. Janet) as their baritone. She joined them in February and already has become a great asset to the quartet. Rehearsing weekly helps them improve their skills, increase their love of singing barbershop, and has solidified life-long friendships. Members are: Karen Fisher, tenor; Wendy Sharer, lead; Marcia Thornton, Bass; Carol Leonard, Baritone

Sidetracked
Sidetracked quartet has been singing together since 2009, but individually have many years of quartet experience. They started just for the fun of it, but found the sound of ringing chords exciting, and they have kept with it. Sidetracked has performed on the Altoona Chorus' show since 2009, and at area senior residences, at banquets and have performed the National Anthem at the Curve Baseball games. Consider inviting Sidetracked to perform for your next function.
Tenor: Peggy Freyvogel, Lead: Karen Frederick, Baritone: Mary Kay Parrish, Bass: Ann George.

Q’nique began their quartet in the Summer of 2009. Two members live in State College and two live in Altoona. Their love of singing 4-part a capella harmony, in the barbershop style, has taken them on a wonderful journey. Q’nique has performed in many venues throughout the region from chorus shows, nursing homes, as well as birthday and anniversary parties. The quartet, along with the male quartet, Wild Pitch, performed a night of barbershop singing at the CAST Theater in Clearfield, PA. The four women of Q’nique pair up with the four men of Wild Pitch to form an octet known as Knight ‘n Gals. Please give Karen a call at 231-0701, if you would like us to perform at your next special event. Tenor, Terressa Hall Lead, Karen Ciletti Baritone, Debra Heller Bass, Kathy Rosenberry
